What actually happens at Camp?

Today was my Sabbath as i prepare to leave for our Chicago Mission trip on Wednesday morning. I had a lot of time to think about Camp and I kept trying to find a way to describe "What actually happens at Camp?"

That's a question I got asked at church on Saturday night when all the counselors showed up and sat together during the 7:30 service. A lady who was keeping up with my blog asked me and at the time I had no words that could really describe it.

She wasn't looking for a schedule of activities and meal times. She was asking a much deeper question than that...and I didn't have the words. Probably had something to do with fatigue but nonetheless I fumbled something semi-intelligent out.

So as Brooke and I were doing our devotional together today "90 days with Jesus" I came across a quote that pretty much puts it in perspective.

It's like "the untouchable hand of God, reaching down to touch the fallen hand of man." (Beth Moore)

For the entire week of Camp we help our students and counselors SEE Jesus in hope that they would reach out for Him THE WAY THAT he reaches out to us. I believe that in response to our desire, EVERY YEAR AT CAMP God reaches down and touches us all, individually and corporately, with his love.

What would our community look like if more students REACHED UP for God asking God to touch them?
