Thank God for Notre Dame

Everyday I’m more and more thankful I went to school here at The University of Notre Dame.

I met the greatest woman on the planet here.  We dated and got to know each other then after graduation ‘tied the knot’ as they say (sounds cheesy to me).  In the south people say ‘they got hitched’…that’s weird too…how about I be generic and say ‘we got married’.  (sorry I got hung up on not finding the right descriptive lingo)

Anyway, so I’m glad I went to Notre Dame.  I have no regrets!!!!

I learned a TON and the skills I honed here are in use on a daily basis in my job.  I had a chance to study Theology under some of the leading professors in that field of study.  I also studied business while I was there (a school that has lots of people ending up in Executive Level Leadership positions in the business world isn’t a bad place to study business…just saying)

I played football at one of the top Universities in the country and got to play against and with some of the best college athletes of all-time.  I played against 3 Heisman Trophy Winners, I played with 3 first round draft pics, I played against tons of other first round, 2nd round draft pics, not to mention played in a BCS game.  I had the privilege of being selected by my teammates as a team captain for the football team, and lots more, all because I got out of my comfort zone followed God’s leading and went to Notre Dame.  Makes me want to do it again every time God asks me to do something seemingly crazy for him!

So today and take some time to publicly THANK GOD for the opportunity to go to The University of Notre Dame.  I pray that I can continually honor you though my life.

In cause anyone was wondering, here’s the few verses that carried me through my collegiate years:

Col. 3:23 “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men,”

Phil 2:14-15 “Do everything without complaining or arguing, 15so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe”

Psalm 23:1  ”the Lord is my Shepherd I shall not want”
