Really excited to be preaching on "The Time I Needed God The Most" this weekend.

We launched this series last weekend and it's off to a great start.

Some of the things that'll likely come out of this series:

People looking at their own life and remembering the time they needed God the most.

healing for people who never realized God is with them in EVERY MOMENT of their life and He's continually accessible.

People will rediscover that we have a Faithful God even in the midst of our unfaithfulness.

People will be reminded that Jesus DID rescue them from themselves. Sometimes when life is tough and we don't "feel like" God is there, and we forget all that He has done for us in the past just because we can't see Him in that specific snapshot of time.

People will come to Faith in Jesus through the power of God's unchanging hand.

marriages that NEED GOD will find Him.

Parents who are struggling with their kids, teens, students will find Christ to be the answer to all their specific self-help & parenting needs!

people will gain another perspective about THEIR situation by hearing the perspective of others. Sometimes we feel like "we're the only ones" going through what we're going through. ...not true!

Those are just the few I've been praying about but I'm absolutely positive God will do WAAAAAY more than that. It's great to be EXPECTANT of God to do BIG things because He's a BIG God!

Here's one of the great reminders I got while watching the GCC Weekend Service online with Brooke. I haven't forgotten this, but if I'm honest I never really think about it until it intersects my personal space. Pastor Beeson helps us all realize this reality.

"Religion remains one of the most powerful influences in shaping world history."

"Religion Matters":

Religion toppled the statues of Buddha in Afghanistan AND toppled the twin towers in New York City.

Religion has stirred up civil war in Sri Lanka and Darfor (sp?)

Religious rivalries are boiling over or simmering in Nigeria

Religion is one of the drivers and prime movers in Cashmere (sp?)

"We have to understand there are fundamental differences in the religions...they are not the same and they do no produce the same results, in a life, or a nation, or this world."

We kicked off our "Blink" Series here at Granger this weekend and I'm so excited because I need the wisdom.

Getting ready to have our first child there's a fun urgency that I feel about being prepared for when she gets here. Brooke's due May 16th and it's FAST approaching.

Here's some of the things I jotted down from Pastor Beeson's message:

~"How can a young man keep his way pure BY living according to your word" - Psalm 119:9

~Training your child in the way they should go requires 'intentionality' (Referencing Prov 22:6 "train a child in the way he should go and when he's old he will not turn from it.")

~All kids are different (sounds simple but why do we try to treat them all the same)

~It's never too early or too late (Col 3:10-21) to start raising/helping your

~Kids will watch what you do & if it doesn't line up with what you say, they will assume you don't mean it. This is why Jesus said in John 13:15, "I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.")

~"Integrity" gives you "moral authority".

~We need to set up the "rumble strips"/"guardrails" in our life so we don't end up "over the edge" (of a cliff or damaging fall)...(Prov. 22:28 Do not move an ancient boundary stone set up by your forefathers.")

~ It affects our lives and witnesses if we don't have guardrails

~We can't do this (raising our kids) ourselves, we need God and his wisdom to do this the right way. (James 1:5 "If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God...")

~Just because wisdom is given doesn't mean we get it. We have to actually listen to the wisdom of God through His Word, His Church, His Followers, etc...SO THAT we can get what God is giving.

Grateful for the wisdom of Pastor Beeson and thankful I can learn about this parenting thing from him. You can catch the service online tonight at 6:30 or 8:30 p.m.

I can't wait for this series to start in GSM High School this week! It's about to rock somebody's world! It's packed with all the stuff that makes the high school environment so awkward that you can cut th

e tension with a knife.

In a series like this, somebody always gets a foul or two called on em and that's sometimes just what we need to get back on track.

We're about to cast some serious Jesus Vision and maybe call out some fouls (maybe flagrant fouls) in the Dating, Sex, relationship, courting, homosexuality, game of life. It'll be enlighten, helpful, to the point, yet safe!

High School Parents be warned...

These topics might come up for discussion in your home as we're walking through them the next 4 weeks. Over HERE on the parents blog we will put ALL the main points of each message we teach (THE SUNDAY NIGHT OF THE MESSAGE) so you know what we covered. (I would do it now but it might ruin some of the surprise for the students, sorry.)

ALSO PARENTS, DON'T FRET, WE'RE ROCKING THE BLINK SERIES (Click HERE for insight) FOR YOU ON OUR WEEKEND SERVICES COMING UP NEXT WEEK SO YOU MIGHT AS WELL CONSIDER THIS FAMILY MONTH AT GCC!!! We love you guys!

It's 2:30 a.m. and I'm still on fire from First Wednesday tonight at GCC. John 3:16 baby! This was my first time speaking at First Wednesday and there aren't words yet to describe my experience but it was good.

A few people asked me for the lyrics to the Phil Wickham song I was referencing. It's always helpful for me to read it over a few times and just let it sink in.

Phil Wickham - True Love'

Come close listen to the story
About a love more faithful than the morning
The Father gave His only Son just to save us

The earth was shaking in the dark
All creation felt the Fathers Broken Heart
Tears were filling Heaven's Eyes
The day that True Love died, the day that True Love died
When blood and water hit the ground
Walls we couldn't move came crashing down
We were free and made alive
The day that True Love died, The day that True Love died

Search your heart you know you can't deny it
Come on, lose your life just so you can find it
The Father gave His only Son just to save us

The Earth was shaking in the dark
All creation felt The Fathers broken heart
Tears were filling Heaven's Eyes
The day that True Love died, the day that True Love died

When blood and water hit the ground
Walls we couldn't move came crashing down
We were free and made alive
The day that True Love died, The day that True Love died

Now, Jesus is alive

Jesus is alive
Jesus is alive
Jesus is alive
Jesus is alive
Oh, He is alive
He rose again

When blood and water hit the ground
Walls we couldn't move came crashing down
We were free and made alive
The day that True Love died, The day that True Love died

Come close listen to the story

Here's some of the one liners I wrote down from Dr. Bob's message this past weekend at GCC:

God has little to do with shame and guilt, LOVE is his last word.

We [GCC] see non-Christians, not as pagan or heathen, but just as Jesus does, "lost coin", "lost sheep", AS "A TREASURE"!

Nobody will steal my joy, "for the Joy of the Lord is my strength" (Neh 8:10)

When a child forgives, they "RESTORE" you in their heart.

God keeps fixing my life for me

"Re-sentment" = "Re-feel" (as one resents they feel the pain of that circumstance again)

Grace always leads you HOME. (Noted in the song 'Amazing Grace')

The Bible starts to change you. (James 1:25 "But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it")

Satan never stops talking...that's why he's called your "accuser"
