A handful of week ago Brooke and I were in Cincy for a mini-vacation and i got a chance to watch one of my tennis heros, Roger Federer, play live at the Western & Southern Financial Tourney.
I took my Flip Ultra HD with me and took some clips of him warming up for his match vs Lleyton Hewitt and some of him serving when they actually played.
Tennis is one of the sports I play and watch for fun and recreation, but it also brings me "rest". My mind slows down, i relax, I re-energize, I sweat, I learn, and every time I walk off the court I'm "better". Not better in the sense that my tennis game improved, but i'm just "better" because of the time i spent finding and exploring one of my places of "rest"...not to mention it's one of the funnest sports I've ever played.
I hope everyone takes time this week to find their "resting place". It adds longevity to to everything we're a part of.
Here's the video:
I must say that I haven’t thought about it like that, but I always feel refocused when I get done playing. The things that might have been stressing me out prior to playing are back on the level where they should have been the whole time. Can’t wait to play again.
Man, he’s so smooth!! Can’t wait to be able to hit it around with you soon!
Thank you for capturing this, DC. I hope to see him play someday, too – very cool!
