One assumption I have when speaking

me-speaking001

No matter where I'm speaking I go into the talk with one basic foundational assumption. I assume: "Half the crowd will love it, the other half still needs to be convinced." Assuming that some people will love it, gives me the confidence to give it all I got and bring everything I got for the time allowed.  I will very rarely take a speaking engagement that seems like a lost cause, because there's nothing more defeating than speaking to a group of people who think they've heard it all before or who don't want to be there. Also, assuming that half the crowd still needs to be convinced of whatever I'm speaking about brings out my passion for why I'm even talking in the first place.  Then I go to work! That's all, just thought I'd let you know something that's been helpful to me as a speaker.
