Flight and Monday

We made it to Tokyo yesterday afternoon (Monday) and got all settled into our hotel.  We didn't have practice or anything it was pretty much a day of acclimation to the time change and 13 hour flight.  We had dinner and a quick team meeting (video to come later) then we were free. The flight for me was pretty easy (some people struggled).  I slept a lot, watched a handful of movies, played video games with Brooke, then we landed.  The entertainment part of the plane was great.  Everyone had their own individual monitor that they controlled. You could watch movies (about 15-20 to choose from), there was a remote control for playing video games (you could play everything from solitaire, to sudoku, to Tetris), or you could just chill out and watch the flight pattern as we fly over Alaska and TONS of water. We were fed 3 times throughout the flight, which was pretty nice for 60 football guys.  It was all Japanese food and SMALL portion sizes but it was great.  Did I mention the portion size was SMALL?  Oh, ok, just wanted to make sure I stated that the portion size was SMALL. When we got out of customs at the airport there were fans already there waiting for autographs with Notre Dame helmets, jerseys to sign, blank peices of autograph paper (usually because they're going to sell them), so it reminded me of old times EXCEPT all the people were Japanese.  I don't remember pulling in to Southern California to play USC and being greeted by an all Japanese fan club.  (I didn't take photo's of any of that because that would just be reverse paparazzi and that's just weird.) Well that's all I have time for now, so far this trip has been amazing and I'm so thankful Brooke and I get to do this together!
