Chicago '09 from a students perspective
(This is Megan praying for the people in this building.)
I just finished reading one of our students blog post about the Chicago Mission trip our Middle Schoolers went on last. It's really neat to hear students perspectives on the trips. If you have a few minutes you should check it out
HERE.
She had the post broken down by days:
-"It was day 1 and i'd already started to realize things that i hadn't known before. 1) it's VERY hot in Chicago, it was like 90 some degrees that day. 2) I'm not comfortable talking about my relationship with Christ, probably because i feel like people expect me to say certain things that aren't really true and i don't want people to judge me based on what i say. And 3) is that life is comfortable inside the boat, but the only way to really serve God and make a difference is to step out of your comfort zone, out of the boat, and walk on the water. To do that you have to really trust God..."
-"Day two. I realized again how much these kids need love and attention."
-"Day three. I had an inner struggle day three. I've been dealing with quite a bit of hurt lately."
-"Day four. Friday was AMAZING! ''I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.''
-"Day five. Saturday was the day of the Angel's ( Good Seed's team that we spent the week with) baseball game on the field we cleared for them."
-"Day six. Sunday morning we went to Good Seed church service. We spent the afternoon hanging with the kids, and watching Pastor Bone at one of his b-ball games."
-"Day seven. Monday was stretching, and i have a much better relationship with God because of it."
Here's how she ended the post: "
Chicago was amazing! i feel like a completely different person, in a good way. and i pray that God will be more eminent in my life and that people will see God in my life."
I tried to leave a comment on her blog, but it denied me the chance too….SSSSooooo. Megan rocks and that post was amazing. Such an awesome challenge, especially headed into Camp and then Mexico myself.
I’m not going to lie. Megan is amazing! Loved having her on the team. Everyone go read her post. It’s awesome.
