No.#3 really hits home for me. When I was youth pastor in a church I would be discouraged when taking my students to a camp and the speaker disappeared only to be seen during the session. Now as a speaker at camps, retreat and youth events I make it a point to get off the stage and into the crowd of students. Simply because I love students and youth workers. And at heart I'm still a kid so I really enjoy hanging out and getting involved in the games with the students during a retreat weekend even though later my body regrets it. I believe speakers can NOT know the spiritual needs of the students at a camp or retreat unless he invests some time getting to listen and know them. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, great stuff.
