30 Lessons learned by age 30

Just hope that this gives you some things to think about. This isn't an exhaustive list. It's just quick things that popped into my mind. Many of which I've learned from other people along the way.

1. Marry your best friend

2. Keep your family a close as humanly possible!

3. Seeking God's truth has HUGE payoff in the moment AND down the road.

4. You can learn from a lot of different types of people, don't dismiss different voices so quickly.

5. Laughing is AWESOME! Do it often or die.

6. Choose comedy over tragedy if possible.

7. Paving your own road is smart only if nobody has gone exactly where you're going.

8. Love is tangible, not just an emotion. Find it and you'll know what I'm talking about.

9. In the moment things might hurt but appropriate processing and time heals all wounds.

10. Uncertainty is caused by a lack of knowledge. Hesitation is the product of fear.

11. Sometimes bad things happen to good people....and vice versa.

12. It's better to say you don't know if you really don't know.

13. Simple awareness goes a long way when searching for God's Truth. Don't make it more complicated than it is at times.

14. Waltzy's gonna hate me for this but, First Impressions are WORTHLESS 50% of the time.

15. Stepping outside of your comfort zone is a must of true success.

16. Much failure comes from simple carelessness.

17. Take as many pictures as possible!

18. Passion is awesome but it's not everything.

19. You can't live your life worried about what other people say about you.

20. People deserve a second chance....but not always a third.

21. What you DO is WAY more important than what you say.

22. If you never act, you will never know.

23. Being a grown up is fun especially when you have the heart of a child.

24. You build memories day by day but they'll last a lifetime.

25. Knowingly ignoring something obvious is like walking backwards towards an enemy.

26. Sports don't last forever, play with no regrets so that when you're done you have AMAZING memories.

27. Fear is STUPID! ...beat it! If you never act, you will never know.

28. There will always be people who count you out...prove to them why there is greatness in you.

29. Don't follow anyone else's path but your own.

30. Be a player and a coach. Learn and teach others along the way if given the opportunity.

Determination

This squirrel's knows what he wants and he goes and gets it!

What if we weren't deterred by obstacles, jumps, hills, curves, bends, or breaks, in our "path"? What if we pursued passionately and wholeheartedly the things we KNEW we were supposed to...what would be our reward?!!! (hypothetically speaking)

Simple Leadership: Every leader has gaps

Surround yourself with people who fill your gaps. Let them do the stuff they’re better at so you can do the stuff you’re better at.

Know when to default to the gifting of those around you! Giving up control doesn't diminish your leadership or platform.

Put yourself out there

In order to do BIG THINGS you have to put yourself out there. It's just that simple.

Safe dreaming equals safe outcomes. This photo is the definition of "putting yourself out there". How can you put yourself out there today! I was inspired by this photo last night!

Been wrestling with this

20110831-121557.jpg After my 'Safe Harbor' post a few days ago I saw this on my plane ride down to Orlando to speak and just started cracking up Inside. I've been wrestling with when to play it safe in my leadership and went to take some bold chances so I thought it was pretty crazy that I catch a glimpse of this. Still not sure where I land but this is a GREAT season for me to be in. Thanking God for this process time!
