Can you throw em? I sure can't.

This verse got me through my senior year of high school.  I had really JUST given my life to Christ even though I had grown up in the church.  So, once my life started to change and I started trying to make better decisions and stand up for my faith I started having a lot of people try to keep me down by saying I was a hypocrit because of how I previously lived. I tried to say, "that was the old me" and "i've changed" but high schoolers are RELENTLESS...then I found John 8:7 and I was "THAT GUY"! hahaha  That was my little come back to get my homies off my back so that I could live strong and not feel like I had to just defend myself all the time. God gave me this little verse to help me get through a few tough months. They kept demanding an answer, so he stood up again and said, “All right, but let the one who has never sinned throw the first stone!” John8:7

Wake up from your slumber

Heard these words on the radio from NEEDTOBREATHE this morning and they spoke volumes to me as a parent. "Wake on up from your slumber, open up your eyes." Sometimes as parent we need a reminder to WAKE UP...and OPEN OUR EYES to what's going on with our kids and family! ...well I know I do anyway! The tendency of every one of us (if we're honest) is to create normality, familiarity, & usually comfort...none of which are bad AT ALL actually. As a matter of fact, in my life sometimes those things are the only things that keep me sane, haha! But there are other times when those things can almost lull me to sleep and I need a reminder to WAKE UP and realize how AWESOME every day is. How sweet every breath is, & how precious every moment is! Praying for all the parents who need a WAKE UP moment today! You're not alone! BIG shout out to NEEDTOBREATHE who probably wrote that song for 20 other reasons but God used it today as a great reminder!
