CAMP ADVENTURE 08- Monday - July Session Part 2
Sunday Night Monday:
Sunday Night:
All the counselors got to camp and settled in then just when I was about to go to sleep I heard a knock on the cabin door. So I went to the door but no one was there. The only people I assumed were still up were other Directors so I went to John's cabin first to check things out to make sure everything was ok (he handles most emergency situations)…and everything was fine…Just then one of my buddies walked up to us and said his hand hurt really bad. He was hanging some lights, the ladder broke, he fell, something fell on his hand, it hurt, and he needed to go to the ER.
After 3 hours of the WORSE hospital experience ever (MUCH patience was needed) we came back and finally got some sleep. 3 hours, in the EMERGENCY ROOM, to get an x ray, a diagnosis, and discharge papers. It took AN HOUR alone to get discharge papers that said, take "Tylenol for pain."
Don't worry I'm not bitter.
MONDAY:
Monday was a great day! All the campers got here safe and sound, which is always a good thing, and we got the party started!
The Counselors are A-MAZING and the inspire me. Their energy, focus on Jesus, and passion for loving on these students is remarkable. It's an honor to have them with us this week.
Help staff has been so helpful, polite, and really exemplify a servants heart and attitude. We are all grateful that they are here!!!!
The Tech Crew is on it! They have met every need and exceeded my expectations along the way. Adam, you should be proud, they're doing awesome.
The tech crew and the help staff are the phantom groups, they serve like crazy without anyone knowing but the directors.
The band rocked out to some sweet camp tunes and are just phenominal. Their hearts overshadow their talents and our students are really being blessed by them being here.
Campers jumped in and took off running! They seemed to be invested since the time they set foot on campus. No big issues either, we moved around some bunks to accommodate what we needed but registration was great.
I spoke Monday Night for 'Evening Worship' and the Holy Spirit was DEFINITELY WITH ME. I know because I ended up being led to say quite a few things that weren't in my notes and not only did they work but God's presence was all over them. (That's not a "qualifier" for if I know the Spirit of God is with me, I'm just saying that it was just evident God was with us last night and that was a way of ME knowing He was leading me in the moment.)
Overall:
Monday was a great day at Camp Adventure!

Judy didn’t warn you that it’s not truly camp unless she spent a night in the ER.
I hope the rest of camp is awesome. I ssoooooooooooo wish i could be there.
You rock.
